The HKU Financial Education project at the Faculty of Education, The University of Hong Kong (HKU) is funded by the Quality Education Fund (QEF). With the official title “Enhancing the financial literacy of junior secondary students through learning study and phenomenon-based learning” (QEF project number 2018/0811), the objectives are as follows:

1. To characterise the financial literacy of Hong Kong junior secondary students in schools from poorer neighbourhoods.
2. To collaborate with teachers to plan, implement and evaluate financial education lessons tailored to the needs of those Hong Kong junior secondary students to improve their financial literacy.
3. To increase  the capacity of the schools from poorer neighbourhoods to offer tailor-made financial education programmes to their students.

We wish to express our heartfelt gratitude and sincere appreciation to our partner schools who have joined the project for the 2020-2021 school year. The project team together with our partner schools are excited to embark on this journey to investigate and improve the financial literacy of Hong Kong junior secondary students.
